Google Invests in Flo, and the Companies Will Also Combine Data for Personalized Recommendations

Flo Health has announced a multi-year partnership with Google Health and received a strategic investment. The amount has not been disclosed. From early 2027, users will be able to link the Flo and Google Health apps.
The integration will work in both directions. Flo data on menstrual cycles and women's life stages will be available in Google Health to personalize Google Health Coach recommendations. Meanwhile, Fitbit data on sleep, heart rate, skin temperature and other metrics will help refine cycle predictions and symptom analysis in Flo. The companies also plan to develop joint products for women's health, combining Flo's algorithms with Google's wearables and sensors.
The companies have also announced joint AI research. The partners want to study how hormones affect sleep, heart rate, mood and energy, and develop AI models to identify early signs of perimenopause or symptom patterns linked to conditions that can take years to diagnose, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis and uterine fibroids. They also intend to develop new standards for evaluating the quality of AI recommendations for women's health.
Flo, which became Europe's first femtech unicorn in 2024, has more than 80 million monthly active users. The company will remain independent. Data will be shared between the apps only with users' separate consent, and information shared with Google Health will not be used for advertising.
