Warsaw to host Kooperativ social projects hackathon with a €35,000 prize fund

On October 30–31, Competence School will hold the Kooperativ hackathon in Warsaw. It will bring together up to 100 participants from business, technology, education, media, culture and the social sector. Over two days, they will form teams, develop concepts for socially significant projects and present them to a jury. Winners will receive financial support from a total prize fund of €35,000, as well as prizes from partners.

The organisers are looking for projects that create new opportunities for communities: helping people gain their first professional experience, bringing specialists together, enabling ideas to be tested and new initiatives to be launched. Participants can join the hackathon not only with a developed idea, but also with resources or professional skills they are ready to contribute to a future team.

The programme includes idea pitches, team formation, mentoring and expert talks. Mentors include Alexander Skrabovsky, founder of DŌBRA impact venture studio; Dmitry Dichkovsky, an EBRD expert and lecturer at Kozminski University; Alexander Vasilevich, co-founder of VONDEL; fundraising specialist Alina Jablonski; Artem Karpechenko, CBDO at Blinger.io and Alma Agency; and others. Participants will explore how to validate demand for an idea, find funding, build partnerships and prepare a compelling pitch. The hackathon will conclude on October 31 with project presentations to the jury.

Participation is free, but registration is required. Participants travelling from outside Warsaw may receive reimbursement for accommodation in the city and travel by ground transport. The application deadline for those requesting travel support is October 20. For Warsaw residents and participants who do not need reimbursement, the deadline is October 28.
